A Grandmother’s Journey of Love
CeCe Vance’s journey into grandparenting began unexpectedly when she became the primary caregiver for her 6-week-old grandson. Unprepared for this sudden responsibility, she received a call that changed her life—she was told to be at the courthouse to pick up her beautiful grandson and bring him home.
In a whirlwind of emotion and urgency, CeCe had to rush to purchase all the essentials—a car seat, diaper bags, diapers, baby wipes, formula, blankets, and clothes—everything she hadn’t planned for but suddenly needed. Once she brought her grandson home, the next challenge was finding a supportive community to navigate this new chapter.
However, what she expected to be a straightforward search for support quickly turned into an uphill battle. The lack of resources and community for grandparents raising grandchildren was a stark reality, leaving her feeling isolated and overwhelmed. But instead of giving up, this challenge sparked a determination in CeCe.
It was in these challenging moments that CeCe found her purpose and gave birth to a mission to support others like her.
